Inauguration Day for President-elect Donald Trump is on the horizon and is expected to be a day for the peaceful transfer of power of the highest office in the United States.

Before Trump can start his plans of what he hopes to accomplish in his first days back in the Oval Office, including hittingMexico, Canada and China with import tariffsandpardoning Jan. 6 rioters, he will have the eyes of the nation on him as he takes the oath of office for the second, and final, time. But this inauguration will be a bit different thanks to a blast of Arctic air that is expected to hit a majority of the United States starting this weekend.

Trump inauguration moved indoors due to extreme cold

On Friday, the president-elect announced that the inauguration will be held indoors due to the extreme cold that Washington, D.C., will be facing on Monday. Here's what Trump wrote about the change in venue:

"The weather forecast for Washington, D.C., with the windchill factor, could take temperatures into severe record lows. There is an Arctic blast sweeping the country. I don't want to see people hurt, or injured in any way."

"It is dangerous conditions for the tens of thousands of Law Enforcement, First Responders, Police K9s and even horses, and hundreds of thousands of supporters that will be outside for many hours on the 20th (In any event, if you decide to come, dress warmly!).

"Therefore, I have ordered the Inauguration Address, in addition to prayers and other speeches, to be delivered in the United States Capitol Rotunda, as was used by Ronald Reagan in 1985, also because of very cold weather."

While traveling to Washington, D.C. for the pomp and circumstance on Inauguration Day may not be in the plans or were put on hiatus because of the extreme weather, you can watch it live several different ways. Here's what to know.
